Parliament has opened a probe into Kenyans stranded in Egypt. MPs heard testimonies that domestic workers had passports confiscated, denied pay, and labeled illegal. Some have slept outside the Kenyan Embassy in Cairo for weeks. The Embassy is said to be understaffed. The Foreign Affairs Ministry will send a fact-finding mission next week. “We cannot abandon our people,” said one committee member.
