South Africa is in mourning. 11 killed in KwaZulu-Natal, 10 shot dead in Lwandle, Cape Town, and 17 killed execution-style in Carletonville – all within 48 hours. President Ramaphosa has ordered SAPS to work round the clock. “These criminals must face the full might of the law,” he said. Police say gang rivalry and illegal firearms are fueling the killings. Community leaders are demanding army deployment. South Africa’s murder rate is now among the highest globally.
